WienerStaatsoper: Turandot
Over its 150 year-history, the Vienna State Opera has survived the ridicule of citizens, the bombings of World War II, a rebirth from the ashes and a rise to become a benchmark world-class opera house.
A true symbol of the city, the Vienna State Opera is fundamental and paradoxical. Positioning itself as the keeper of traditions, every New Year it pleases the residents and guests of the Austrian capital with the invariable "Die Fledermaus", and in February - the famous Vienna Ball, for which the auditorium is reconstructed. Along with imperial customs there is cooperation with the most radical and unconventional directors of our time - Vienna welcomes any talent and experiments.
Today, the Vienna Opera is practically the ideal of an opera house, tickets are sold out months in advance, and the cast of soloists is capable of evoking a sigh of admiration from fans and envy from competitors: Elina Garanca, Asmik Grigoryan, Anna Netrebko, Jonas Kaufmann, Juan Diego Flores, Pretty Yende, Sonya Yoncheva, Ludovic Tézier – it is difficult to find a world-class star who did not sing in Vienna yesterday or is not going to sing tomorrow. After all, any performance at the Vienna Opera is something that will be talked about throughout the season, and which other theaters will be equal to.

Wiener Staatsoper: Il Barbiere di Siviglia
"For his new production at the Vienna State Opera, the director Herbert Fritsch has created a colourful slapstick party" (Der Standard) and assembled a gifted and dedicated ensemble of excellent vocal quality and marvelous acting skills.
By mutual disagreement
"Turandot" is somewhat similar to Kafka - why not; also partly a storyteller.
Wiener Staatsoper: Anna Bolena
Expectations had been running high for the Vienna State Opera’s first-ever staging of Donizetti’s “Anna Bolena”, and they were even surpassed thanks to this dream team of vocal giants. Anna Netrebko sparkles in her role debut alongside Elīna Garanča.
