La Fille du Pharaon

Дочь фараона

The legendary ballet of Pierre Lacotte, who resurrected Marius Petipa’s mighty, pseudo-Egyptian fresco, which once starred Mathilde Kschessinska, captivates the audience with Svetlana Zakharova’s portrayal of the Pharaoh’s daughter. With exquisite variations, opulent costumes, and thrilling abstract of emotion, the ballet is extremely popular with the public. A desert storm, a lion-hunt, various chases, several suicide attempts, a fantastic celebration of all the world’s rivers and also of nereids and nymphs at the bottom of the majestic Nile make this vibrant ballet a choreographic masterpiece.
