One of Yuri Grigorovich’s earliest and greatest choreographic works, A Legend of Love is a tale of forbidden love, self-sacrifice, jealousy, and suffering. Based on Nâzım Hikmet’s Ferhat ile Sirin, with Arif Melikov’s score, A Legend of Love features dances, sets, and costumes inspired by the Middle East. The world-class performance is a tale of forbidden love, jealousy, self-sacrifice, and suffering through the conflicts of love and duty of its two heroines. One of Maya Plisetskaya’s favourite ballets, A Legend of Love, filmed for Bolshoi Ballet in Cinema, stars Maria Allash, Denis Rodkin, and Anna Nikulina.
